Tampa Bay #eclipse maximum is at 3:00 PM with about 65% of the sun blocked by the moon.

You need special eclipse glasses to look directly at the sun. Just like any day of the year.
If you don’t look at the sun, there will be nothing different about the day. It will not be any… pic.twitter.com/XuwV5WnVIx

Gordon Johnston: According to NASA, October's full supermoon is called the "Hunter's Moon." As the full Moon in the Hebrew month of Tishrei, this full Moon falls near the start of Sukkoth, a 7-day holiday starting on the 15th day of the month. Sukkoth is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles or the Feast of the Ingathering.
Carlie Procell and Janet Loehrke: The final full moon of 2024, also known as the cold moon, will rise as far north as it ever does — a phenomenon that happens every 18.6 years called a "major lunar standstill."
Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle: The sun, the light is Jesus Christ, and the Church, like the moon, must rely on the light that comes from Jesus. My hope is that every year on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, we Christians can renew our "lunar ministry": turn to Jesus, receive the light of Jesus and share the light of Christ, not our light, with the world. Jesus is "umen Gentium," the light of the peoples. We are the moon.
