Justin Bond: Yeshua asked how could we understand spiritual things if we don't understand the natural. Jacob, Jacob's physical descendents, The Land, United Kingdom/Political Entity under the rule of David and Solomon, The 10 Northern Tribes, The Jews who returned from the Babylonian Exile, Judaism as a whole, and the modern political state and its citizens can all be described as physical or legal Israel. "Kingdom Israel" is made up of both physical (Legal) and non-physical (Spiritual) Israelites who are believers in Messiah Yeshua. It's long overdue for us as believers to start trying to understand these things in the here and now for a foretaste of the future.

BRANDY BAGAR-FRALEY: When Christians write about God's unique presence in their lives, they are obeying God's command to record what they have seen (Rev. 1:19) and engaging in an embodied act of remembrance that mirrors others in Scripture: the stack of stone on stone, the sip from a cup, the bite into bread. Throughout the Old Testament, God constantly commands his prophets to write down his words that they may remember them (Is. 30:8, Jer. 30:2, Hab. 2:2).

Reuven Chaim Klein: Rabbi Yaakov Tzvi Mecklenburg (1785-1865) writes that the word malach is related to the Hebrew word malachah (“creative labor”) because a malach is an agent — whether angelic or not — who carries out a certain task on one's behalf. Though the comparison between these two words is not readily understood, Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch (1808-1888) offers a penetrating insight: The word malachah denotes the thinking man's ability to bring his ideas into reality through creative work, while malach is the personification of the thinking man's ability to use a proxy to realize his ideas. He also writes that the word malach sometimes refers directly to G-d because He constantly engages in the malachah of creating the world.
